Mental Health in the Black Community

My piece is an article about mental health in the African and Caribbean community within the UK. I want to uncover the common prejudice in mental health towards black patients, the social stigma towards black individuals and media influence. My piece will explore home factors and outside factors that contribute to this stigma. I aim to uncover what people think in the black community and research behind it, I want to bring awareness to the community and why we should look into mental health way more.

The target audience is 15 years to 35 years old because they will have a grasp of societies issues, racial discrimination and notice injustices in the world. This age group will likely have family or friends who are mentally ill. The aim of my pieceĀ is to provokeĀ conversations about mental health and give insight for those who are unaware.
