Website Submission – Arun Matharu

17 Jun Website Submission – Arun Matharu

My website acts as my personal portfolio, showcasing my skills in writing, photography and graphic design. There you’ll find conversations on music, art, youth culture, mental health, feminism, gender politics, human rights and more.

The aim is to show potential employers that I have a clear sense of personal branding, aesthetically, ethically and topically.

I wanted my website to showcase both my passions and my skills, in a Swiss design style.

I chose to have a slide across full screen menu to house my main menu as I felt that it gave a cleaner look that made the website easier to navigate. My menu allows you to find more out about me, visit a blog list of my posts, a sliding gallery of my photography, and a contact page to allow potential employers to easily contact me.

My about page gives a brief insight into my skills, passions and ethics regards to the work I want to produce. I also state clearly my intentions for this website; to act as my own personal portfolio.

My posts contain categories and tags that easily identify the topics of my work, and are rich in hyperlinks, video and audio content.

The next step for my website is to develop my social media presence as a professional journalist and add a Twitter feed to my main home page. I am also hoping to create more videography work this summer, with hopes to add a Videography Page to my portfolio.
