My project looks at the novel Coronavirus outbreak and aims to dissect some of the data, inform of the origins of the virus and how it measures up to some of the previous pandemics we’ve suffered before.
The project is a multimedia data package which includes infographics and interviews. I drew great inspiration from the BBC Data Journalism projects they do on all manner of topics and like they way they’re often presented. This gave me the idea to explore COVID-19 for my project using graphics and words on the platform Shorthand as it enables a nice fluid read with its layouts.
My target audience is anybody who’d like to know a bit more about why we’re in the global situation we’re in at the moment, how we’re dealing with it and how it’s affecting us.
