Families Lost and Found: Pre and Post Internet

22 May Families Lost and Found: Pre and Post Internet

My project explores the journeys of two different adoptees uniting with long lost biological families. Both stories are interwoven with similarities whilst maintaining their uniqueness. This is achieved by digging into history and comparing circumstances pre and post internet. The aim of this multimedia piece is to shed light on adoption and the rollercoaster of outcomes that come with it – no two stories are ever the same.

In the UK, the legal age for adoptees to trace down birth family is 18+, so my project is intended for that age range. Whilst it is primarily targeted for adoptees on the search, it is also aimed for anyone who is interested in learning a thing or two about adoption. These are not sob stories. They rather demonstrate that with so much corruption that exists in the world, happy endings do exist.
