Gabe’s Portfolio Site

28 Apr Gabe’s Portfolio Site

These are a few screen grabs from my portfolio site. I have chosen to use a minimalist style on the site in order to draw the viewers’ focus to the content rather than the site itself. I have done this by making the content very easy to access through my simple navigation system and my basic colour scheme. For my portfolio site to be a representation of my personality/content style and to engage with my target demographic of young adults, I have chosen to use an informal and understated tone to make the site personable. I have opted to use Squarespace for the site due to the ease of use, along with how the platform automatically formats the site so it looks good to both mobile and desktop users. The emphasis of the site is to make content quick and easy to publish, which I have done by creating a number of templates for my post icons. This allows me to quickly change the featured image and article title and then post, making the process very efficient. To better build a personal brand for the site, the url is gabetoner.com which makes finding the site very easy, along with having my name shown clearly in bold in the header on every page of the site. To further establish connection to the rest of my online presence, I have included links to my social media accounts at the bottom of every page on the site, making it easy for readers to find.
