‘What will it do to stop you?’ asks judge who convicts drunk and disorderly woman

06 Dec ‘What will it do to stop you?’ asks judge who convicts drunk and disorderly woman

A 59 year old woman, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon.

Officers arrested her at 4pm on the 2nd of October in Bishopsgate after Francesca Bibi from 38 Fermain Court Dalston, was found shouting at members of the public in the streets and disturbing the peace.

Police officers at the scene claimed she was drunk and not making any sense. Bibi was remanded in custody after being arrested. As a result of her guilty plea, she was not represented during the trial.

The court heard Bibi had been out for a drink with a friend and had decided to leave to get some fresh air when she started becoming aggressive towards the public and shouting abuse at passersby.

She’s been diagnosed as being partially sighted and was aided by a support worker during the trial.

Due to Bibi’s ‘permanent’ reoffending the magistrate present gave a recommendation that she received more state help after it was revealed she had been arrested 107 times, convicted on 63 of those occasions and 15 have been drunk and disorderly charges.

Bibi’s daughter has control over her mother’s finances and pays her outstanding court fines that she owes from previous convictions.

During sentencing the judge said: “What will it take to stop you?“ as he ordered her to pay a £100 fine for yet again another conviction for the serial offender.
