Hadrian Fletcher – Competition entry

12 Dec Hadrian Fletcher – Competition entry

Here is my entry to the Thomson Foundations MOJO Competition

The requirements for this competition are that the entire VT is filmed on and edited on mobile devices, that it is intriguing, surprising and demonstrates creativity.

The entire VT was filmed on an Iphone X using airpods as microphones it was all edited on the same phone using the Imovie application. The only time a mac with adobe editing software was used was once editing was complete to ensure the videos final format was correct for the live broadcasting equipment.

I believe that this piece is intriguing and exciting as its focusing on what could possibly be the future of shopping, shopping is part of our everyday lives so a major change to how supermarkets work is going to be interesting to people of all ages.

I also think the VT demonstrates my creativity if you watch the Liveshow in which it was intended for use in you can see that i made the VT in such a way that it combines me talking in the studio live and the VT to tell the story. you can see this here youtube.com/watch?V=LEzk4Kx_jrw&feature=youtu.be  starting at 1:38:50 and ending at 1:40:44 although it should be noted there where some sound issues when Im speaking for the second time. for context here is my full script.

Some of the biggest contributors to climate change are the companies we use in our everyday lives, supermarkets are some of the worst for plastic waste this has created a trend of zero waste stores, this has created a trend of zero waste stores that have had a very positive impact online  now things are stepping up as one of the major supermarkets has moved into the zero waste game.

VT PLAYS

so its clear people think this is a good idea but are unsure if this is just a PR move, we did contact Waitrose for a comment on their long term commitment to the environment but they failed to respond we did however send our reporter Meschanda to speak to  environmental expert Simon Ashley Cross

our expert interview then played. I believe that this mix of talking live and using the VT made it easier to connect with the audience and keep their attention.
