Workbook Infographic

08 Aug Workbook Infographic

After researching in class what an Infographic is, what it includes and what it is supposed to show, I wanted to focus on something major happening. Following up with research on the Office for National Statistics I wanted to focus on the smoking habits across Scotland, wales northern Ireland and England and wanted to see how they differ even thou it is the same country. The ONS offers a wide range of statistics covering this topic well, however, I wanted to know more about the countries themselves but also wanted to see how it changed over the years. The Consequences were something I also wanted to include in my Infographic to give the reader all the information including the smoking habits in the UK.

After my all-around research and collecting many notes regarding my topic, I was ready to start writing my story. Where my research and sources were helpful in finding the right angle. I then decided on my layout for my Infographic and the kind of pictures and emoticons’ I want to use. I drew these all down on to my notes and created a kind of the first draft. (will be found attached) After drawing out my wireframe on paper I decided to use Piktochart as my Infographic provider. I was deciding it would be either grey, orange or brown for the background. Deciding for the orange-brown was easy because the grey just looked too dark. I could realize a lot from my first draft on paper. After I have finished my infographic I checked if my story and my Infographic were not repetitive in each other but hey would also match.
