I decided to write a story about the Syrian refugees and to use an infographics to tell this story. First I wanted to have the Syrian flag because it’s related to Syria and to have the two main countries which they were travelling to before they go to Europe . I decided to have footprints from Syria to Turkey and Greece to show that the Syrians were travelling to Turkey and Greece then to Europe. Because the footprints are connected to the refugees somehow. I wanted to have different refugee icons in the infographics but I couldn’t find anything else. Then I wrote the three main years which were 2015, 2016 and 2018. I use the UNHCR XL refugee numbers, and when I looked at the numbers I was sure that it dropped down because the people who wanted to travel travelled from the beginning. Then when I looked to the journalist Ferran Morales who did and fictional girl called Zeinab who travelled out of Syria and he described her journey I felt that this can help me. The main point was that the Syrian refugee numbers are dropping down, but the question for me was why they are dropping down? by reading the numbers I understood that in the beginning the people were so scared that’s why they were travelling, and now it’s the people who are left are tho ones who doesn’t want to leave.

I had two interviews one of them was by phone with my friend Elias Afesa a medical student from Lattakia and he told me that all the people who wanted to leave already left. “this was also my view”

And the second interview was with my second friend Elias Atalla ” syrian refugee in Syria” I did it when I was in Sweden, he told me that they tried to stay but when they saw that the war will not end soon they travelled.
