So for my group is planning to focus on Brexit VAT on the fact that labour is planning to back a second referendum as we feel that this is a subject that is relevant. In our afternoon class we were in we Began to plan for our audio format task we were told that we could either create an audio package .

week 5
Today as a class we all went to parliament to film a Brexit VT and also record a form of audio as practise for our upcoming hand-ins. my role was editorial I helped to decide on shot types, questions and our general idea for the piece while other members in my group were either filming presenting or editing. for the audio side to the day I interviewed some Brexit protesters and will edit this on audacity in the next lesson. today really gave me a clear idea of what filming my final VT will be like.

Week 6
This week in class we reviewed the last night’s TV News my table was set the task to watch sky News. We discussed all the different types of news that we saw and I found it really interesting to see how each group has different new stories to speak about. We then had to present our Brexit V tees and read out our studio intros. We then began to plan for an interview we would be conducting with somebody from the University, my group is planning to interview a student who is in the music industry. In the afternoon we had a class further looking into fight hoax and how it is used to measure accuracy in journalism

Week 7
In today’s class we began by evaluating the TV evening news that weird watch the previous night we then did a re-Of the Brexit VT feedback that we received as some of the groups in our class had been set for homework to re-do the voice-over for their VT. we then went on to look further at interviewing for video and began to discuss ideas for interviewees. In The afternoon audio class we focused on discussing the local weeks news and how we could use that within our audio work we then began to use audacity to edit the Brexit audio packages that we had recorded in the prior weeks.

Week 8

Last week for Michael’s class we were set the task to prepare a pitch for our audio packages when I first started to look into what kind of audio package I would want to do I really wanted to do something related to recycling or animal agriculture so that I could use a special effect of an animal in my peace and explained this to the class. We then began talking about how to write a script, how to structure an audio package and discussed of Brexit audio packages further.

Week 9
Today we started off class by going over and deconstructing the news that we had watched the night before we then began watching our profile interviews and Vox pops from the weeks before to get feedback in class and went over how to write stand firsts for VTs and will set the homework to upload all work to the JLDN YouTube channel with a headline and a stand first.

Week 10
Today in a video class we showed the program inception for the first time which we will be using for our live shows next year we also reviewed the ideas that we individually have in groups for our VT packages.
In the afternoon audio lesson we recapped script writing editing what a pot cut is and a lead in. Michael reminded us that we need to stay as balanced as possible in our audio packages to make sure that we deliver a fair and complete report. We also went over the best ways to open our audio packages and the best way to do a lead in.

Work book

Before the Easter break we did some research as a group into the different type of VAT that we could do/ideas we all had and we came to 3 final stories that we wanted to film one of them was the London marathon the other a 420 rally in Hyde Park and the last being A dog show called the great British bark off. After emailing a few places we decided to choose the great British bake off as we had a woman who was prepared to speak to us from the charity all dogs matter. As the news editor it was my job to make sure that all of the equipment was booked and that I had prepared everything that we would need for the day of shooting.

For my audio package I did a lot of different research into The different types of audio that we listen to such as the radio and podcasts we listened to quite a lot of different audio packages in class but in my spare time I took note when listening to different podcasts such as the Joe Rogan experience taking note of the different types of special effects so that I could use them in my audio package. In in terms of researching for my angle and idea I looked up what was in the news and looked for something that I could find that was relevant to students all my patch and I came across a news article about Xanax use and then remembered that I had a friend who had problems with that drug so spoke to him and we agreed to meet up and he would be a part of my audio package.
