14 Mar Sex and Relationships Education: an update?
My journalism project is a multi-media piece that explores the impact of teaching consent under the 2000 Sex and Relationships Education guidance while evaluating how the preliminary guidance will teach consent and how effective it could be. I have chosen to write a 2,500-word article, accompanied by a 5-minute video, and 3-minute audio piece. I wanted to include a mixture of facts regarding the current teaching of sex and relationships, as well as case studies that show the real-life impact Sex and Relationships education has on individuals. My project is aimed towards people who are interested in the education sector and who would be interested in hearing the developments of the proposed guidelines, and both the benefits and downfalls of them, as well as parents whose children’s learning could be affected.
