15 Mar A new approach to tackling domestic abuse?
My project is an in-depth written article that looks at the rehabilitation of domestic abuse perpetrators through the use of Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programs. I studied carefully the work done by the Splitz Support Service and one of the men who attended their DVPP.
I tried to style my story in a similar way to the Guardian’s Long Read for example. My target audience is anyone with an interest in societal matters, or who has an interest in rehabilitation. My main aim is to show people the benefits of rehabilitating offenders. I want people to read this and think that there is a better way to deal with the problem of domestic abuse than what is currently being done. There is an alternative that challenges offenders instead of ignoring the damage they do.
