Website and Presentation – Emma Parker

14 Jan Website and Presentation – Emma Parker

My Website: emmaparker.co

As I am seeking a career in the beauty/fashion PR + marketing world, I have created a website showcasing my passion for both beauty and fashion and how I can transfer that into my future career.

Starting with my home page, my logo is right in the middle of the page as it is the first thing people viewing my site will see. I have done this as it’s very important in the PR world to create yourself as a brand for people to recognise, which again proves myself as a marketer. Also, my logo is very simplistic yet sophisticated, much like other PR logos such as Push PR and Seen Group. I have included my location in my logo so future employers can see where I can work and where I can transfer between. Furthermore, as my second name is Parker I have underlined the P and the R, to yet again show PR is what I’m interesting in.

My website is extremely easy to navigate between with the main categories being Beauty, Skincare, Fashion, Lifestyle, and Travel. I created the first free categories to show thats what I am interested in and that I know a lot about them and so I could transfer my knowledge into my PR career. I created the category of Lifestyle to yet again make myself a brand which some people could be interested in me and my life. Finally, I created the category Travel as it is another of my favourite pastimes and could show future employers I am willing to relocate as I love travelling and seeing the world. You can also see on the side of the home page there are social media links to my all my different social medias, which I think is imperative to a career in PR. It shows how engaged I am in social media and how I always keep updated on the latest trends and that I’m always active on all the social media sites. At the top of my side bar is a search bar so people can easily navigate between my website with my social medias right beneath it for people find me on social media and follow, and then the latest posts right beneath it to show I’m always active posting on my website.

At the very top of my page I have included an About Me page and a Contact page. I think it is important to include an about me page so both readers and possible future employers can know about me before trying to contact me. Thats why right next to the About Me page I have included a contact page to make it easy for people to get in touch. Also, yet again I have included little social media icons on my top bar as I think it is vital to promote my social medias if I want a career in PR.

On my actual blog posts, when you begin reading them I have installed a pop up which allows readers to share my blogs on their social medias. I think this is a brilliant way to get my work out there and allow my brand to be shared by others on social media and promote myself.

I end each of my posts with an image of my logo to remind people of my brand and get people to remember the logo. Furthermore, I also end the blog post with a plugin which allows people to yet again share my blogposts on their social medias with a simple click. I think social media is the most important way of getting my brand out there which is why I have so many options for my social media to be shared and accessed. There is also a leave a reply option for readers to use and interact with me.
