JLDN Live Show – 22nd November 2018

Brexit, Brexit, and more Brexit

PRESENTER 1: The past week has seen more twists and turns on the Brexit rollercoaster, and things do not look to be slowing down.

PRESENTER 2: As we speak, Prime Minister Theresa May is standing in Parliament discussing what the future holds when it comes to the relationship between the UK and the EU.

PRESENTER 1: Our reporter Oscar Bevis headed to Westminster, to speak to protestors on the potential deal, and discover how it may affect young people.

Presenter & scriptwriter – Oscar Bevis: For this role, I had to open and end with 2 piece-to-camera’s. To ensure the piece looked as professional as possible and that eye contact with the camera was maintained, I had to learn the script. Due to the constant changing of the story, there were minor tweaks that I had to make to the script on the day. The voiceover was recorded with natural sound as we thought it would look better with the GV’s. During the interviews, I had to ask the questions off camera and assist the interviewee by briefing them on what we required. This whole process took approximately 3 hours.

Cameraman & scriptwriter – Hadrian Fletcher

Video editor – George Iddenden

JLDN Live Radio Show – 6th December 2018

Review of today’s Newspaper front pages

PRESENTER 1: And now for a review of today’s front pages…

Presenter and scriptwriter – Oscar Bevis: I took on the role of presenter as a replacement for someone who was absent. My role throughout the day was to sort out my script and re-write the lead-ins for VT’s to suit my reading style. Introducing packages was not too difficult as the lines were very short. Me and Aimee (also presenter) took the initiative of doing an off-script review of the front pages of the day’s newspapers which featured a wide range of different stories. I also plugged quite clearly the JLDN social media.
