The Metoo movement and its impact on female workers in the sex industry.

The Metoo movement has taken huge strides over the past year, we sent out our reporters to find out how the movement has impacted female workers in the sex industry.

Broadcast date: 6th December 2018

For this VT my role included filming the piece to camera, GV’s, and expert interview. I also wrote the script for the piece to camera and voiceovers. I conducted research surrounding the subject, to write the scripts and find filming locations. During the original editing process, I decided which clips should be included and the order of the footage. I also re-edited the original VT to this version and uploaded it to youtube for the group.  Ananda acted as presenter in the piece to camera, and read the voiceovers. She was also responsible for setting up and contacting the expert interviewee, obtaining one of the Vox pops, researching locations for filming, and helping with editing by using the software and adding voiceovers over each of the clips. Bethany edited the 300 word article written by Amira for the VT that was posted on the JLDN website, and also conducted research for the topic. Youness found and filmed one of the Vox pops contained within the VT.

The chancellor voices his opinion on the Brexit deal in the third day of Brexit debates

Bulletins from the 15:00 live show on the 6th of December 2018, written by the news editor Lorna Tyler.

Broadcast date – 6th December 2018

During this particular live radio show my role was the news editor. I wrote both bulletins and headlines every half an hour updating and changing each story as they developed, I did this by constantly checking IRN, when the details of the stories changed I would add any additional information to the bulletins for the next reading, swapping any outdated stories for new ones. I also found and downloaded audio clips from IRN, inserting them into audacity, changing the HZ to 44100 and adding an artist name when exporting, so each clip was formatted correctly to be played on the radio show. The stories included in the bulletins at 15:00 covered the Brexit withdrawal agreement along with an audio clip of Philip Hammond speaking to MP’s. The next story discussed the issues the 02 network suffered, causing issues with calls and internet with the network providers of sky, Tesco mobile and Giffgaff. The third story covered mental health in England including a recorded clip from IRN from a mental health expert. Other stories included, Boris Johnson apologising and a clip of his apology from IRN, the government suspending tier 1 investor visas and the disappearance of Grace Millane in New Zealand accompanied by an audio clip from IRN featuring a detective working on the case. The final story covered the lack of physical activity that children partake in every day, accompanied by an audio clip for Rebecca Adlington discussing the issue.
