On the 16th of November 2018, the Old Bailey were assessing the link of five men, to a murder case that took place in Essex, in November last year.

The court saw evidence in the form of police interviews, linking 27-year-old Illford man, Ionut Vasile to the case. Mr Vasile had taken part in seven recorded police interviews in the two days after his arrest. He responded, ‘no comment’ to all questions asked, claiming it ‘wasn’t me, but I know who did it’.

Mr Vasile, before offering any relevant information, wanted to be granted protection from the police, to protect him and his family from those involved. He was reluctant to offer any further evidence until this protection was guaranteed.

On the 12th November 2017, 36-year-old Sandel Serbu was attacked in Illford, Essex on his way home from a night out. he was taken to an East London hospital, where he later died at 4.35am. His post mortem revealed that the cause of Serbu’s death, was due to blunt force trauma to the head.

Five men were later arrested with believed connection to the murder. Mr Ionut Vasile, 27, Mr Razan Stoica, 26, and Mr Araman-Nardi Stoica, 24, were all charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon. Mr Florin Ivan, 29 was charged with manslaughter.

The trail continues.
