A man allegedly got a job at a bank to steal money. He is now being charged for fraud alongside his accomplices

The trial against Mr Adekoya, Mr Ogun-Moweta, Miss Mohammed and Miss Ighagbemein took place today at Southwark Crown Court. The charge against all defendants was for fraud, however they all pleaded not guilty. According to prosecutor Olabi, Adekoya got a job at Natwest in the Norbury brunch around September 2015 and this allowed him to access and change customers bank details so he could then transfer their money into a different account and split it with the other defendants. After being caught he was fired and arrested from his house in South London a year later, as well as his accomplice Ogun-Moweta. Defendant Underhill questioned two witnesses, the two police officers who arrested Mr Adekoya, who confirmed the arrest but couldn’t give any details because they couldn’t precisely remember the fact. Prosecution also explained the role of the other two defendants Ighagbemein and Mohammed in particular, who had been traced down thanks to text messages with the two men, CCTV footage from the Natwest brunch and large transactions made with a debit card who’s beneficiary was Miss Mohammed. Underhill called in the final witness, Mohammed’s ex best friend as the defendant accused her of being the one using her card, but she denied saying: “I’ve never used her card”. Judge Taylor decided to re adjourn the trial.
