A 39 year old man was convicted for assault in his absence, now he asks to reopen the case.

On the 29th of June 2017 Mr Armsby was filmed by CCTV cameras at Southwark station attacking two men. At the end of the same year the 39 year old man was convicted with assault but without him being present, in fact the defendant not only didn’t comply with the conditions of his bail and the warrant of arrest issued by the police but he barely attended any of his trials, leading his lawyers to the decision of not attending either. Today, on the 27th of November The defendant asked Magistrates through his representative Pankhania to reopen his case and have an other trial since he still declares his innocence, however prosecutor Edwin said “if defendant wants to appeal he should go to crown court”. The Magistrate decided not to re open the case and that Mr Armsby will be sentenced at Westminster Court on Wednesday the 5th of December, reminding to the defendant that lateness or failure to attend will be classified as offence.
