80-year-old lady strangled to death with a lawnmower cord

28 Nov 80-year-old lady strangled to death with a lawnmower cord

Rahim Mohammadi, 40, is on trial for allegedly strangling Lea Adri-Soejok0, 80. The victim was strangled to death with a lawnmower cord and was locked in a shed at the Colindale allotments in North London. Lea Adri-Soejoko was the secretary of the Colindale Allotment Association in which Rahim Mohammadi was also a member of. Mohammadi had beaten her up beforehand where she received fractured ribs and bruises, and was then strangled to death as part of a ‘cover up’ knowing the victim would’ve recognised him, jurors were told.

Prosecutor John Price told jurors that Rahim spent hours at the allotment on the same day Lea Adri-Soejoko was murdered as he had been seen by two witnesses. One of the defendant’s colleagues has said in court that Rahim had to leave in an emergency on the day of the murder involving a set of keys, he returned a few hours later with no full explanation, the witness says.

Lea’s body was found the following day by her daughter, who was out searching for her with the police after not answering any of her phone calls. Rahim Mohammadi is on trial at the Old Bailey accused of the 80-year-old’s murder and has denied any murder charges.

The trial continues
