10 May Walworth Regeneration
London was founded around 50 AD by the Romans. Its name is derived from the Celtic word Londinios, which means the place of the bold one. Fast track now to modern day London, the city has been divided into 32 boroughs and each on has their historic significance. One of these Boroughs is Southwark. Walworth, one of the districts in Southwark, has been said to hold historical significance that can be dated back all the way to the 13th century. And the people of that district as well as the Walworth Society are fighting to hold on to that history in the wake of the regeneration process.
