10 May VT – Closure of Post offices leaves Peckham branch overcrowded
Post offices have been closing down due to cuts for the past few years and Peckham Rye Post Office is no exception. This has resulted in overcrowding in the remaining Post Office on Peckham high street.
In 2017 270 post offices closed down and 270 people lost their jobs. We went to the remaining Peckham Post Office to speak to customers about their experiences with the queues and service in the post office.
To contribute to the group I did independent research on post offices. I also helped with the filming by filming inside the actual post offices and holding the mic with one of the interviews. Hannah wrote the script and also researched. Amira was our reporter and did the voice over. Jessie held the camera and edited the VT for the group.
