UK universities’ mental health crisis: tackling it one step at a time

10 May UK universities’ mental health crisis: tackling it one step at a time

For some university students who are tackling mental health problems, they could be waiting up to four months before they receive any help. Eileen Fidal demonstrates how she is dealing with her mental health problems one step at a time and how she copes being at university and being so far away from home.

Group contribution:

When we were deciding what to do for our final piece, I contributed to the group by suggesting that we should do a story about mental health in universities. Although it could have been a potentially risky story, it seemed to work well. Within our VT group I also had the role of writing the script, this required me to do a considerable amount of research into the topic, especially because there were areas I was quite unfamiliar with. I also filmed a variation of GVs during the editing process to make sure it all ran smoothly.
