Over the past few years’ mental health awareness has increased, particularly due to the rise in young people suffering with mental health issues, Universities in particular have began to engage with young people, realizing the seriousness of the issue and providing support for those suffering, Reporter Oscar Bevis went out into London Southbank University to find out more about the growing problem and the support available.

Group contribution –

While working on our final piece, I conducted the interviews for the vox pops finding the people, asking the questions and filming their answers. I filmed 3 of the GV’s used in the video and timed them according to the length of voiceover that would be played along side them. I also edited the VT, this included putting all of the clips into an order, cutting out segments of interviews that were not relevant in order to fit to the requested time, editing the volume levels on clips to match the volumes of all of the segments, aligned and cut the voiceover to match the length of the clips and added a picture behind the peice to camera to get rid of the black lines either side due to it being filmed in portrait. Finally with the editing I also added the name of the reporter and a slide effect to the piece to camera.
