Stonewall withdraws from Pride in London 2018

Stonewall has made the decision to withdraw its support for Pride in London, which includes not taking part in any promotion or the parade.

Stonewall have withdrawn it’s support for Pride in London in 2018 due to the lack of diversity and inclusion of BAME people. They have instead chose to support Black Pride UK, a similar festival which mainly uses BAME artists and presenters and takes place in South London in July. Stonewall claim that this is due to Pride in London ignoring concerns raised to them from the Community Advisory Board. Both parties involved have since made comments about their stances on the issue.

Sintija Gerucka – Script writer and narrator/presenter.

TomĀ  Shearsmith – Producer, sound, video filming (archival from 2017 and newly filmed footage), video editor, interview question prep.

As part of this duo, I took on most of the BTS roles including arranging interviews/quotes, filming the footage (and looking through my old footage from 2017) and editing the VT. My editing includes the creation of a lower-third for the presenter and interviewee and also all elements for the quotation screen. I also provided the voice for the narration during the comment from Stonewall. I ensured that our presenter was equipped with a microphone (connected to the iPod) and the footage was filmed on an iPhone 7+ which allowed us to film in as high as definition as 4K.

Doctor Who Restoration Team working on release of ‘Enemy of the World’

The Doctor Who Restoration Team are working on the upcoming release of the 1967 Patrick Troughton story ‘Enemy of the World’, an episode once considered lost forever.

Doctor Who’s Restoration Team, based in South London, are working on the upcoming release of the 1967 Patrick Troughton story ‘Enemy of the World’, one of the first episodes to feature ‘split-screen’, the process of having two of the same actor on screen at once. This episode was once thought lost but was recovered in 2013 in an old TV Broadcasting archive abroad. Avid Doctor Who fans speak to Tom Shearsmith about their interest in the episode and the possibility of finding more!

POT CUT 1: 2:09 (Once interviewee Ian Readman has finished speaking)

POT CUT 2: 2:40 (Prior to mentioning the words “Doctor Who Enemy of the World Special Edition…)

Note: All those interviewed on the radio package were also based in SE1-SE11 at my specific request when asking for fans to speak with me in order to accurately gather interest in my area to contrast with the South London origins of the Restoration Team.
