Sexual harassment is unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature which violates your dignity, makes you feel intimidated, degraded or humiliated creates a hostile or offensive environment.

You don’t need to have previously objected to someone’s behaviour for it to be considered unwanted.

The number of sexual assault victims as recorded by the Met police has gone up by more than 7,000 in the last four years. Women reporting rape rose by 80% from 3000 in 2012 to 5400 in 2016.

What’s even more surprising are the figures for men which seem to have almost tripled from 211 to 616 in the same period.
The number of sexual offences in London from 2104 to 2015 has increased by 14%, 2015 to 2016 by 5%

Between the years 2014 to 2017 there has been an 8% decreased but then saw an increase 11%.

But according to www.london.gov.uk, London accounts for 15% of all recorded sexual offences across England and Wales.

Non current sexual offences as recorded by the MPS increased by 121% in the 3 years to 2016 with recorded historic rape offences increasing by 111%.

However it was found that victims did not report sexual violence because they felt it did not seem serious enough and they would not be taken seriously, while not knowing who to report to.
