08 May Infographic Workbook – Tom Shearsmith
The creation of my infographic has been through various stages – including originally using a completely different dataset in hopes of finding other suitable comparison data. Originally the intention was to create an infographic and article based about sexual health including HIV/AIDS in the UK or Europe however I quickly learnt that health data was very restricted to NHS and other similar institutions because of patient confidentiality, and as such changed my topic to something suitable, relevant and engaging for most people regardless of age or personal background.
Information below includes the first draft of layout for an infographic based on sexual health and a grid for the final layout of the infographic which is based on Brexit breakdowns including voting outcome attributions. Photographs included show work in a personal notebook and print screens show Photoshop progression and data put into Pivot tables and other data forms so that I could manage what I was using and interpreting.
As can be seen from the workflow occasionally print screened in Photoshop, care was taken to ensure everything lined up correctly with other aspects, most things were given a subtle drop shadow for depth and clarity and other things were used such as image masks on text.
