EDITORIAL ROLE – RADIO PRODUCER

15 May EDITORIAL ROLE – RADIO PRODUCER

As a Radio producer, I started my day by conducting a meeting and asking what everyone’s done. Since this was our final show we didn’t have any topics so everyone created audio packages on topics they wanted. I gave everyone their roles, created a folder on drop box for people to upload there work and then started working on the script on inception. I have previous experience working on inception so I didn’t have any problems using it.

After writing the scripts I asked the presenters to have a read and give me their feedback on the scripts. I wanted the last show to be a bit different and more relaxed. I added a segment where the presenter’s spoke about their best tunes for summer and we played few seconds of each track. I also wanted to have the news as usual but for a change I thought it would be a good idea to play the headlines after reading a a story.

Apart from Lucy everyone exported the audio files in the wrong format so I had to export all the audio files again. I made an executive decision to go live at 2.00pm because everything was ready.

We went live at 2.00pm, but there was a slight problem.  One of the audio files was missing so I told the presenters to apologise and continue, they reacted very calmly and the show was great.
