For my project I have created a multimedia piece, including a written article, images and audio pieces about the effects that poverty has on young people who have grown up in Newham and their education. I focused in on Newham as having grew up there I have seen the large amount of poverty in the borough. I was interested to see whether this would have an effect on a young persons education and their aspirations. Throughout the piece different factors are highlighted that ultimately have an influence on a young person growing up in poverty and their education and aspirations. The intended audience of the piece is on a small scale people who live in Newham and London, but on a wider scale I believe anyone throughout the country can read it and take something from it. The aim of the piece was to establish the effects poverty has on a young person and their education and aspirations as well as the different factors that influence this. But also to see that they can still achieve regardless of these barriers.
