Ireland’s Lost Generations – FINAL PROJECT

23 Mar Ireland’s Lost Generations – FINAL PROJECT

With the Irish youth still remain highly affected by the 2008 recession this article explores  the reasons why youth migration is back on the rise, 10 years after the collapse of the Celtic tiger. They are leaving despite predictions from the European Commission (in 2017) that the economy is projected to remain “robust”. I was curious to find out why, I spoke to three Irish citizens, and used graphs and infographics to explore the countries housing crisis (not enough houses being built, and what is happening with the infamous ghost estates), and poor labour force, and contracts. My intended audience is young people aged between 16-24.
