30 Jan Journalism project (Draft’s)
I am currently working on a video and 2 audio pieces for my project. All three pieces are about technology and how it effects children’s health, learning and behaviour. I always heard from people that using too much technology (phone’s/Ipad’s/computers) are bad for individuals especially children. I wanted to research and interview relevant people to see if what I always heard is true, and how too much technology effects people and children (age 6 – 11). My aim is to make children and their parents realise that although there are many benefits to technology, too much time spent on these will have a negative impact on the children’s life.
This short video is about Technology and it’s effects on children’s education. Since this is only a draft, I didn’t edit the video properly. The interviews I currently have are very poor and the sound quality is terrible. I still have a few more interviews that I have organised that will be added to my final video.
I used a lot of footage of nature that I will replace in the final submission with footage of technology and other scenes that relate to my story.
I could not meet Nimra the psychologist because she is currently abroad and will not be returning until March. So instead we voice recorded our interviews. I am on the process of sorting out a Skype interview with another psychologist from America, if the footage is better I will replace Nimra’s speech.
I think that the PTC I have recorded are some what bias and would like to rerecord them again.
I still need to add effects to both audio’s and video.
There are bits on both the video and audio where there is no sound, I done this by purpose to show you where some background music/sound will go.
So far I interviewed:
Ms Barnett – primary school Teacher
Nimra Zulfiqar – child psychologist and a John Redford winner
Dr Akisom – A Doctor at wapping GP
The survey I conducted was based on 14 children that attend the a school I volunteer in.
I read: Virtual Child by Cris Rowan
Vox pops – Joe, (Mother and child) Mariam and Adam.
