Are unpaid internships fair?

Internship Search

14 Dec Are unpaid internships fair?

With three-quarters of people backing a potential ban on unpaid internships, students at London South Bank University gave their opinion on the issue, reports Leanne Cresswell

For our live show on Thursday 26th October 2017, my VT group decided to report on whether students felt that unpaid internships were fair.

During the filming process, I contributed by taking on a variety of roles. I started off by researching the story and found a variety of facts, which helped our group to proceed in script writing. Another role that I contributed towards was operating the camera. I filmed a selection of the GV’s in this piece, including the cash machine and the shots that were taken in the student union. My colleague, Theo Giles and myself both went to the Student life centre at LSBU, where we interviewed student business manager, Charleen Douglas, whom appeared as our expert interview. Once our group had finished the filming process, I took the footage home to edit on Premier Pro, which resulted in our final package, ready for the live show.

Group roles during the filming process:

Theo Giles: Theo was our VT editor and contributed by researching the story, script writing, interviewing people for vox pops and filming a selection of GV’s, the piece to camera and the expert interview.

Remeka Washington-Wint: Remeka helped with the research for the story, script writing, filming the vox pops, recording the voice overs and also appeared on the piece to camera.

Angela Ansari: Angela came out with us to help film the GV’s and also wrote the article for our VT which is viewable here.
