Interviewer
How long have you been thinking about creating a community radio station?
David
Six weeks ago I was sitting here with a couple of friends and I thought, lets just do it.
Interviewer
Is this a new found love or have you always been really passionate about radio?
David
I’ve spent almost my entire working life doing sound, touring and gigs but this is so much ore personal
Andrew
I was seven years old and I heard a strange noise coming from the top of the fridge, it was a Martian spaceship landing on London and that was the begining of a love affair that has lasted for the past 61 years.
Interviewer
So is that one of the main challenges you’ve faced so far? Trying to think of an angle to take your station?
Andrew
Well the main challenge is getting enough people to contribute whatever it is they can contribute to the channel. We’ve been getting together a formula, a plan and reaching out to organisations like the Herne hill society and Herne hill forum. We’re looking at the whole business of what community radio means and where our reach goes and what we’ll include in content.

Who will your program be aimed at, did you have a target audience in mind?
Andrew
My experience is, is that if you’ve got something good it will draw its own audience.

- Only if they played the music my generations listening to right now, if not I wouldn’t listen to it at all
- Well I think it’s a waste of time because the community needs other things from than a radio station. A radio station wont help the youth right now. That’s all I have to say
- I’d love a radio station in my are, it’ll get everyone together and listen to more music.
