“Everything a guy says once”, the famous musician Bjork once said, “you have to say five times”.

This audio documentary is concerned with the role of women in the male-dominated music industry. Its aim is to present the thoughts of Edith, Amanda, Christiano, Gonnie and Samira – five professionals working in music – on the topics of gender, sexism in the industry, and work relationships.

From the roles they decided to take on in the music industry to the comedown which follows after some experiences haven’t turned out so great, you’ll hear stories about real people from different backgrounds who are not afraid to touch on one of the biggest issues in the business.

“Sexism On Repeat: An Audio Documentary about Women Working in Music” – a piece which is intended to reach students and young professionals aged 18 to 30 who care about gender equality and who consider themselves music lovers – is definitely not about victimising women in any shape or form but to give those affected a platform to explore their thoughts and feelings about the industry they work in.

Special thanks go to Christiano Sossi, Gonnie Rietveld, Edith Violet, Amanda Maisonnave and Samira Wacker who kindly took out the time of their busy schedule to be on this project. Also, I would like to thank and credit bensound.com and incomptech.com who provided the music for this project.
