The Hart On My Sleeve

22 Jan The Hart On My Sleeve

This is The Hart On My Sleeve–a Watford FC themed fansite designed to provide up-to-date information and content revolving around The Hornets.

My Homepage

My homepage displays my menus–a variety of different posts contained within four key headings. It also shows my featured posts slider, with my five most recent posts. The logo and site name pertain to Watford being the team of Hertfordshire, and the reason there is a hart Watford’s logo.

Housestyle

This shows the house style for the Stat Pages, previewing home opponents for this season, with hyperlinks for context. The image of the line-up they used on that day and an appropriate image make the post more dynamic. A live table and twitter feed run alongside.

Opposition Profiles

This screen-grab shows  consistency in the house style–utilising two columns with images throughout. It shows the use of block-quotes and colours to represent a team’s transfers for that season, and pre-formatted text to display top goalscorers. You can also see use of tags at the bottom, and hyper-linking throughout the post,

Tablet

This screengrab shows the view of the site when viewed on a tablet–a medium particularly popular when consuming football media. The use of two columns and a sidebar simply means that a tablet view pushes the side-bar further down the page, rather than force the user to scroll across.

AboutThe final screen-grab shows the about page with information and a small gallery with anecdotal text and images. For the intended consumer–a Watford fan–this will  give context for the site, and hopefully invoke a more personal connection, similar to the one a fan develops for the team they support.
