I am Sonia is a website dedicated to showcase my passions, writing skills and knowledge about beauty products as I am aiming to work within this industry.
The homepage is kept in a simple way. The categories, social media, About Me page and Contact form are displayed at the top. Below, the user can see “Featured Area” which is a slideshow containing 3 last posts about the beauty.
I decided to remove the sidebar from my homepage. Instead, the reader can see a list of all my last posts (excluding “Po Polsku” category”). The reason for that is that I wanted to keep my homepage simple, minimalistic and “clean”.
All the widgets are placed at the bottom of the website with my picture and short description in the centre. On the sides you can see “Subscribe” area and “Recent Posts” with archive dropdown. Below, I also decided to place my Instagram feed.
All of my posts are layout in the same style. The stand-first’s colour is changed to match the blog’s main colour scheme.
Moreover, I decided to bring back the sidebar into the posts as I figured that most of the readers will come from other sources (like Pinterest or Google Search) straigt into the post and therefore it will be easier for them to have all the information within reach. In my sidebar you can find: About Me, social media links, Instagram feed, Snapchat code and Subscribe area (Bloglovin + Subscribe via e-mail).
In the “About” page I decided to remove the sidebar as well so that the reader can focus on the text. As I am planning to use this blog as my Portfolio, I thought it might be essential to have my CV. Therefore, once you clicked on the “See my CV” button, the CV pops out.
Last but not least, I also decided to creat “Events” category where I share all the beauty events that are happening in London.
