Professional Conduct – Graphics Role

16 Dec Professional Conduct – Graphics Role

Responsibilities

For the graphics role, my responsibilities were preparing the title card and the credit roll, as well as playing the VTs during the live show when prompted. Along with this, I was also taught how to create the lower thirds for our pieces and was tasked with teaching everyone else how to also do this. Throughout my role, I also provided graphics aid to my peers who required help.

27/10/2016 Show

When I got into class on the day of the show, I began making the title card and credit roll after getting some advice from LJ on how to do so. Throughout the day, I created multiple lower thirds for classmates who were not sure how to do so and attempted to teach them how to create them.

On this day, I also helped fix a package that had been exported with the incorrect settings (PAL DV instead of HD 1080p, resulting in it displaying in the 4:3 aspect ratio). I fixed it so that it was the correct resolution for the show, as well as applying the lower thirds to the package.

After 27/10/2016 Show

When we switched roles, I taught my classmate who took on the graphics role how to do their role, and aided them to the best of my ability as they learnt how to do the role.

For the Christmas show, I volunteered to do the lower thirds for my peers who were not sure how to create them. I used the 2nd year Slack group to attempt to get the names for lower thirds ahead of time as this would make our time spent on the day of the show more efficient.
