25 Jan The Homeless Women in London

Around 12 per cent of rough sleepers in London are female.

It is much more common for members of the public to witness more male rough sleepers than female in London. The reasons for this vary. One of them being the risk of female rough sleepers being sexual abused is higher, leading to more women being forced to seek shelter. This has lead to many people overlooking the struggles that homeless women face. The aim of this documentary has been to give insight to the women’s lives and highlight their struggles, therefore giving wider understanding of the lives of female rough sleepers to members of the public. Hopefully this will encourage more members of the public to offer their support to the female rough sleepers around the UK.
