Silver spoons Roller Disco encouraging the young generation

Since the closure of Vauxhall’s roller disco in 2010, Silver spoons roller disco at the crystal club open on Tuesdays and Thursday nights is now young people’s most loved venue, bringing skate nights back to the community of Wembley. In London it has been understood that there are limited places like this during week days. This organisation is amongst many to expresses its intentions of enabling young people in particular to make better use of their time by engage in extracurricular activities with the support and help they need.

Silverpoons is open on Tuesdays and Thursday nights from 8pm-12am, charging £8 entry and £10 for borrowing skates. However, in Mickell’s circumstance he is charged nothing for being welcomed into the family after experiencing a difficult past. He has developed as a young man and is now a professional skater. Silverpoons provides the chance for people to enhance their skills than to be led astray with negative influenced. All the workers remain committed as satisfied volunteers that contribute simply for the love of skating and not money.

With over 9 Djs that switch over each night Silverpoons, offers more than clubbing catering for different tastes whilst hosting events and special occasions such as halloween, skate competitions, carnival theme, Christmas and birthdays. People enjoy the excitement with friends and family. Spread the word.

Saving Young people from homelessness at centre point


There are many young people who would want to express their talents and skills, however, homelessness is a large factor that stops young people from living a fulfilled life. This audio report digs deeper from the perspective of a social service office, working at Centre Point (UK’s leading charity for homeless people), explaining the changes she sees in young people and how the organisation offers to help.

The second interview is with Whitney Roach a Law student who faced problem at home and had her life changed  from negative to positive after spending time at Centre Point.

Mychelle Scott earns her way abroad after stunning the crowd

Mychelle Scott finally takes the next step in New York after leaving the crowd in tears at the Teen Star’s competition whilst battling with depression.

Miss Scott, 21, breaks barriers which were holding her back during her time in education and building her singing career. She marched her way through experiencing mild to moderate depression due to a long period of financial struggle.

Miss Scott and her family coped with the little they had to survive each day with both parents Jobless. “I didn’t give up” she said. After receiving the opportunity to travel abroad from from Teen Star competition has led to a breakthrough from the condition she suffered, being in treatment for six years of her life.

Friends and family of the young singer attended last year’s event, showing their support with what seemed to be an impossible situation. As she came off the stage, her friends rushed towards her, holding homemade banners and wearing personalised t-shirts.  chanting her name as the audience applauded.

During Her speech on stage, she cried, thanking fans in regards to sending her good luck messages – and reassured to make them proud.  As a student of song writing, Mychelle had left the crowd stunned, singing her own two minute ballad called “Bye” with desperation to continue to the next stage. It turns out that the judges could not say ‘bye’ to the young star just yet. Her friends said: “It really does mean the world to her”.

After last week’s fail, Young Queen of soul vowed to be back “bigger and stronger” when she comes back to london.

Miss Scott was one of the few contestants to make it through, with a good 72 runner ups competing for 35 spaces. Now down to 15 she quotes, “it was an opportunity worth taking”.

Best Friend and housemate, Estelle mentioned “I hear her every morning through the walls, this event has given her a backbone to thrive and look past it all”. Miss Scott is proudly self-trained and gradually improved her vocals without any professional support. She exclaims, “I did it all on my own, my passion for singing has given me strength to beat depression. “She added “if this is a dream, I don’t want to wake up”.

So what enabled this breakthrough moderate depression to occur? Usually adolescence is the stage in your life when you begin to face challenges. Just as a hero she opens a new page in her life to set herself free for the good of London and her fans. Mychelle claims it was her duty to make it through as she states “This is what London needs… it has lost its spark for entertainment and I came to its rescue because it saved me from depression”.

Dr Wheeler, who deals with young people in depression and such cases gives her account, “When we get stuck in a period of low mood or depression it can have great effect on aspects of our lives, in particular the aspects we enjoy and treasure most so I’m glad she’s back her feet which is what lot of people find hard doing.”

London’s open Mic as a business are positive about the direction this is taking Miss Scott by results from this week’s competition. Cyril Ismond co-owner of fresh entertainment speaks on her behalf, “Speaking as a person and not as an event manager, it isn’t about the fame but the determination to not give up, it is a great way of allowing young people especially with serious illnesses to be break through and not hold back”.

Nevertheless, Mychelle’s talent continues to inspire young women by showing off her great leap of success from where her journey began in north London, Islington as social performer.
